Scottish-born soprano, Anna Whyte, is a graduate of The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. 

Whilst at Trinity Laban, Anna was a Montague Cleeve Scholar, a recipient of the Paul Simm Opera Prize and was awarded the Contemporary Vocal Prize. She graduated with Distinction. During her studies, Anna was a choral scholar at the Old Royal Naval College Chapel, Greenwich, where she was also a regular soloist.

Past operatic roles include Mme. Lidoine in Poulenc’s Les Dialogues des Carmélites, Giannetta in Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’Amore, Belinda and Dido in Dido and Aeneas, Cupid in John Blow’s Venus and Adonis and Papagena in The Magic Flute.

Anna is an experienced ensemble singer and works with professional groups including the Academy of Ancient Music. She is a member of the extra chorus of the Royal Opera House. She has participated in masterclasses with Malcolm Martineau, Ian Partridge, Lynne Dawson and Michael Chance. She also sings with Bellaphonics a cappella vocal quartet. She continues her vocal studies with Neil Baker. 

Alongside performing, Anna has a busy schedule working as a peripatetic singing teacher and vocal coach in and around London; current positions include Blackheath High School (GDST), Eaton Square School and Sydenham High School (GDST).

Besides singing, Anna likes to hike, practice yoga and dance, garden and travel to new places. She has also started to explore the world of choral and orchestral conducting.
